Pointillism

Pointillism was a painting technique used in the nineteenth century. It is painting with small dots to create a whole. Georges Seurat is a well known artist from this time period who mastered this technique.

This is a fun techniques for kids to learn and one that is fairly simple.

Materials

  1. Paper
  2. Paint (tempera paint is a good choice)
  3. Q-tips
Steps
  1. Make a light sketch of what you want to paint
  2. Mix/Choose your colors
  3. Use the Q-tips to apply the paint to your paper to fill in your drawing with color
