Pointillism was a painting technique used in the nineteenth century. It is painting with small dots to create a whole. Georges Seurat is a well known artist from this time period who mastered this technique.
This is a fun techniques for kids to learn and one that is fairly simple.
Materials
- Paper
- Paint (tempera paint is a good choice)
- Q-tips
Steps
- Make a light sketch of what you want to paint
- Mix/Choose your colors
- Use the Q-tips to apply the paint to your paper to fill in your drawing with color
